Where are you located? Can I come visit your shop?
Bee Sweet Bakeshop is an in-home business based in Dallas, Texas operating under Texas Cottage Food Law (SB 81), so we do not have a store-front. Our kitchen is not inspected nor regulated by the Health Department – in fact, they would need a warrant to enter the premises. However, that doesn’t keep us from being meticulous about ensuring that our workspace is clean and sanitary.
I’m allergic to _____. Can you be certain that my order will be _____-free?
No. Our products have been baked on equipment that has come in contact with nuts, gluten, soy, eggs, milk, and even _____. We do offer certain gluten-free baked goods on a contract basis (although trace amounts of gluten may be present). Please be aware of the degree of your own allergies and reactions when choosing to place your order with us.
I don’t see exactly what I’m looking for. Can you do custom orders?
You bet! About 75% of our orders are custom, whether customized flavors, shapes, or monograms. Contact us via phone or e-mail and we’d be happy to work with you on your idea.
I want to order 27 cake balls. Is that OK?
Our cake balls start with a minimum quantity of one dozen, and can be increased in half-dozen increments. We’d be happy to put together an order of 24 or 30 for you.
How do I store my baked goods once I have them?
Do you really think they’re going to last that long? Our cakes are best enjoyed on the day of delivery, but leftovers can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature (or in the refrigerator if not covered in fondant). Simply remove them from the refrigerator 1-2 hours before serving to allow the cake to come to room temperature. Cake balls are likewise best enjoyed on the day of delivery. If you need to keep them a bit longer, ask us to wrap the containers in plastic wrap or transfer them to an airtight container when you get home.
I want to order from Bee Sweet Bakeshop for my wedding – do you charge extra?
No way! Here at Bee Sweet Bakeshop, we don’t believe in charging you extra simply because the word “wedding” is attached to the invoice. We do however require a minimum six-week lead time and a minimum $100 order with $100 deposit (subtracted from your invoice total) to reserve your date. The only extra fees you may see are for custom work, delivery, and set-up of tiered cakes – don’t worry, we’ll go over everything when we do your consultation.
How far in advance do I need to place my order?
We request a minimum lead-time of two weeks on non-wedding orders. Keep in mind, though, that we get enough orders to where we are sometimes forced to turn down requests. Please contact us sooner rather than later to ensure that we can complete your order.
Help! I want to place an order, but my date is less than two weeks away!
We accept last-minute orders on a case-by-case basis as our schedule allows with a 10% surcharge. Please don’t hesitate to contact us to see if we are available for a rush order.
So how do I place my order anyway?
Sorry, we don’t offer online ordering – our orders are too customized! However, give us a call at 713.319.5563 or e-mail us at BeeSweetBakeshop@gmail.com to start discussing your ideas and get the ball rolling on your order. We accept cash, checks, and PayPal for orders. Credit Card payment is on the way!
Do you offer bulk discounts?
Yes, we offer a 10% discount on orders of 4+ dozen.
Can you ship?
Yes, we can ship classic cake balls and most custom cake balls to you, although this is dependent on weather. These puppies just can't handle Texas's 115-degree summers! On average, it costs about $15 to ship cake balls via UPS. Custom cake balls may be able to be shipped depending on design – we want to ensure that you get the highest quality product delivered to your door, so we do not ship custom designs that are particularly fragile.
